Abossey Okai Market Gets Thorough Clean-Up to Combat Disease Outbreaks

The Abossey Okai Auto Parts Market in Accra received a thorough clean-up on Sunday, September 28, 2025. The five-hour disinfection exercise, a joint effort by the Abossey Okai Auto Parts Dealers Association and LCB Worldwide Management Solutions, aimed to combat sanitation issues and prevent disease outbreaks. The exercise, part of the national 'Keep Ghana Clean' campaign, saw fumigation teams spraying and disinfecting key areas of the market. Residents and traders welcomed the effort, acknowledging its importance in improving public health and the business environment. Chairman of the Auto Parts Dealers Association, Henry Okyere, encouraged traders and residents to maintain cleanliness. He stressed that regular waste accumulation and poor hygiene practices necessitate such exercises at least twice a year. Okyere also praised LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited, whose Procurement Manager, Yaw Edem King, called on the Ministry of Health to collaborate for similar cleaning measures in other major markets. LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited, specializing in crisis management, plans to extend similar exercises to other major auto parts markets across the country. The disinfection exercise at Abossey Okai Auto Parts Market highlights the importance of regular clean-up efforts in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for traders, residents, and visitors alike.
