Astana's Active Longevity Center Brings Joy and Vitality to 15,000 Elderly
The Free Longevity Center in Astana's Sarayshik district has been bringing joy and vitality to the city's elderly population for over six months. With a mission to instill respect for the elderly, strengthen intergenerational bonds, and foster a culture of care, the Center offers a wide range of free activities, attracting thousands of pensioners.
The Center, which opened its doors in Astana (formerly known as Nur-Sultan from 2019 to 2022), provides around 20 types of services, from classes to social events. Over 520 pensioners have registered since its inception, with more than 15,000 participating in its free clubs and sections. Tolegen, an elder who frequents the Center, appreciates its positive impact on both his health and mood.
The city authorities continue to develop infrastructure to support the active and dignified longevity of the elderly. The Center actively cooperates with local schools, involving schoolchildren in joint events with the Man City. This intergenerational cooperation helps strengthen bonds and promote a culture of care among the youth.
