Astana's Youth Health Center Aids 30,000, Partners with Dermatology Experts
Astana's Youth Health Center, known as Jas Talap, has been visited by specialists from the Kazakh Scientific Center for Dermatology and Infectious Diseases. Although the reason and initiation of this collaboration remain unclear, it's likely part of educational, research, or health promotion programs aimed at improving youth health. The center serves individuals up to 29 years old, promoting a healthy lifestyle with a wide range of free services.
As of August 2025, the center has assisted nearly 30,000 people, with a significant portion being aged 15-18. It offers medical, therapeutic-prophylactic, and psychosocial support, focusing on reproductive and mental health. Services include consultations with psychologists, lawyers, dermatovenereologists, and gynecologists, as well as STI and HIV testing, and other necessary analyses without prior appointment. Notably, a psychologist is constantly present for timely and accessible psychological support.
Recently, a meeting was held at the center attached to Clinic No 6 in Astana to discuss HIV prevention and diagnosis among youth. The center operates on the principle of the four 'Ds': accessibility, voluntariness, benevolence, and trust.
The Youth Health Center in Astana, serving nearly 30,000 people, plays a crucial role in promoting youth health and well-being. Its collaboration with the Kazakh Scientific Center for Dermatology and Infectious Diseases, along with its wide range of free services and principles of operation, underscores its commitment to supporting young people in the capital.
