Authorities scrutinize a woman in Incheon following a candy incident that led to the hospitalization of four minors due to consumption of expired gummies.
A lady in her mid-forties is currently under the scrutiny of the law enforcement in Incheon, after allegations of distributing expired gummy candies to some fifth-graders, leading to four of them being hospitalized. The incident took place on June 11, near a school in Bupyeong District.
Apparently, the woman handed out these expired sweets to six students, among which four developed nausea and needed immediate medical attention. The gummies, it appears, had surpassed their expiration date by approximately a year. Curiously, she claimed that she had sampled the candies herself and deemed them safe for consumption. Consequently, she was taken into custody on charges of negligence leading to bodily harm.
The authorities have dispatched the gummies for chemical analysis, while continuing to interrogate the woman to ascertain whether she intentionally distributed spoiled food.
