Award Winner in Entrepreneur Category Hails from Compassionate Background
In a ceremony held in Grabow, district of Ludwigslust-Parchim, the Entrepreneur of the Year competition recognised several business leaders for their outstanding contributions to the region's economy and society.
Since its inception in 2008, the competition has been a platform to honour businesses for their achievements in various fields, such as securing skilled workers, integration, sustainability, and business development. This year was no exception, with the family business emano Kunststofftechnik GmbH from Teterow (district of Rostock) winning in the "Business Development" category, and the carpentry workshop Timm in Kröpelin (district of Rostock) being recognised for its exemplary work in "securing skilled workers and integration".
Mareen Buchholz, a Diploma in Nursing Science graduate from Grimmen, was named Entrepreneur of the Year in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for her leadership at the Ostseekueste Care Team. The care industry, which is gaining increasing importance with an aging population, faces staff shortages and bureaucracy, but Buchholz's team has demonstrated innovative strength in navigating these challenges.
Economics Minister Wolfgang Blank (independent) highlighted the significance of entrepreneurs, stating that they take on responsibility for employees, partners, customers, and often also for the region. The President of the IHK Neubrandenburg, Krister Hennige, praised the achievements of the honorees, stating they demonstrate "courage, perseverance, and innovative strength".
Thermowhite Nordost GmbH from Möllenhagen (Mecklenburg Lake District) received the award for "sustainability", reflecting the growing importance of environmental concerns in business practices.
