Borken Police Launch 'Senior Cycling' Initiative for Safe E-bike and Scooter Use
The Borken Police Department is launching a new initiative, 'Senior Cycling', to promote safe cycling among the elderly. The first event is set for 25th September 2025 in Borken, with more dates planned in Bocholt and Ahaus. The 'Senior Cycling' concept is part of joint prevention efforts by the district and police, focusing on safety and prevention, with an emphasis on the importance of helmets, lights, and safe equipment for e-bikes and e-scooters. The group size is limited to a maximum of 12 people to cater to individual needs. Participants will learn about safe cycling behaviors at intersections, roundabouts, and bike lanes. The first event is scheduled for 25th September 2025 in Borken, followed by dates in Bocholt on 9th October 2025 and Ahaus on 30th October 2025. The 'Senior Cycling' initiative is tailored to the Borken district, which has the highest e-bike ownership rate nationwide.
