Businesses in the Omsk region will be financially rewarded for hiring individuals with disabilities.

In the Omsk region, financial support for creating jobs for people with disabilities has been announced to start from 2025. This news comes as the regional government, led by Governor Vitaly Khotsenko, focuses on addressing broader economic challenges and working on investment, industrial output, and labor market dynamics.

However, until August 2025, no specific programs or funding aimed explicitly at employment support for people with disabilities have been highlighted in recent official reports or press releases. This contrasts with broader Russian policies on social benefits, which seem to prioritize veterans over disabled civilians, indicating possible challenges in disability support nationwide.

But, good news is on the horizon for employers in the Omsk region. From 2025, they can receive financial support for creating jobs for people with disabilities. The regional branch of the Social Fund of Russia will compensate costs for equipping workplaces for individuals with disabilities of I and II groups, as well as for veterans of military actions with disabilities.

The subsidy amount is up to 200 thousand rubles for each created job. To receive the subsidy, the employer must meet certain conditions. The employment of a person with a disability for at least nine months, as specified in the employment contract, is a mandatory condition. The employer must also submit an application and necessary documents to the employment service within three months after hiring the employee to receive the payment.

The costs eligible for reimbursement include the purchase of main and auxiliary equipment, specialized furniture, technical means, their installation, and assembly. The equipment will be selected individually, taking into account medical recommendations, the nature of the work performed, and potential risks associated with professional diseases.

Funds for the reimbursement will be transferred to the organization's account within ten working days after inclusion in the registry. The commission makes a decision on the reimbursement of the costs of equipping the workplace within five days after verification. Verification of information can take up to 15 working days.

If the workplace is organized at home, as long as it is stipulated in the rehabilitation program and specified in the employment contract, the subsidy can also be provided.

It's important to note that this news does not address the lack of information regarding financial support for creating jobs for people with disabilities starting from 2025, as mentioned earlier. However, with the announcement of this new support system, there is hope that more details will be revealed in the future.

In a separate development, the construction of the Northern Bypass is planned to begin this year. This news item is not related to the earlier bullet points discussed.
