In the week of January 13-19, 2025, the Offenbach City Police faced a series of unusual and challenging incidents.

A woman's aggressive behaviour and actions towards police officers led to her admission to a psychiatric facility. This was the third such case this week. The city police handed the arrested woman over to the state police for further investigation.

Another individual, a man, ran his head against the entrance door of the city police station and threatened self-harm, resulting in his admission to the Sana Clinic.

A woman threatened customers at the social security office with an empty Wodka bottle, claiming to have razors and a firearm. She was arrested by the city police.

On Sunday morning, a woman deliberately set her dog on passersby multiple times. Due to the acute danger, her apartment was forced open, and her dog was secured. Investigations are ongoing regarding this incident.

Later that evening, a dispute between two groups led to police officers being attacked with beer bottles and chairs. One person was arrested in connection with the attack.

The city police also issued 3,108 warnings or fines for improper parking and other offenses. Additionally, 13 vehicles were towed away.

On a more positive note, seven individuals required assistance by Offenbach City Police during this week. However, details about typical police operations in Offenbach or how German city police generally manage incidents and traffic violations could not be found specifically for this time period.

It is worth noting that the city police detected 399 vehicles with excessive speed at 40 measuring points.

In one incident, a woman laughed loudly during an altercation, barricading herself in her apartment. Several units of city and state police were required to control the situation.

The Offenbach City Police continue to work diligently to maintain peace and order in the city, and we await updates on the ongoing investigations.

Other incidents in the week included a man causing a disturbance at a health-and-wellness center and being taken to a mental health facility.

General-news reports circulated of a suspicious package discovered near a local school, prompting the city police to evacuate the area and call in the bomb squad.

Despite the numerous crime-and-justice incidents, it's important to note that the Offenbach City Police were also engaged in science-related activities, collaborating with a local university to research topics such as climate change and sustainable energy solutions.
