Course available for caregivers through GFO
GFO-Kliniken Rhein-Berg Offers Free Nursing Training for Family Caregivers
In an effort to support families during the transition from hospital to home care, the GFO Clinics Rhein-Berg have been offering a "bedside training" for relatives since 2013. This training is designed for relatives and interested parties who are suddenly confronted with the need for care, particularly affecting partners, siblings, or children of elderly, multiply affected, and dementia patients.
The nursing training, which takes place at GFO-Kliniken Rhein-Berg facilities, covers important nursing techniques such as proper positioning and movement, body hygiene, and practical assistance with dressing and undressing, eating, and drinking. Additionally, practical aids, counseling, and initial nursing courses are provided in the training.
The training is free of charge and the prerequisite for participation is that the person to be cared for has a care level. The next nursing course is set to start on August 6th and runs over three weeks.
The exchange between caring relatives is also a focus of the nursing training, aiming to provide a supportive environment for those navigating this new role. For more information and to register, please contact Kordula Halm-Rogowski on mobile 0170 9986419.
It's important to note that the transition from hospital to home care is often experienced as a crisis by the whole family. By providing this free nursing training, GFO-Kliniken Rhein-Berg aims to facilitate this transition, helping families to better support their loved ones during this critical time.
As the number of people cared for at home continues to increase, it's clear that initiatives like this are essential in equipping relatives with the necessary skills and confidence to provide quality care. For precise dates, location details, and registration instructions, it’s best to contact GFO-Kliniken Rhein-Berg directly through their official phone number or website.
- Enhancing the quality of care at home, GFO-Kliniken Rhein-Berg also offers programs focusing on health-and-wellness, mental-health, and nutrition, helping family caregivers to ensure a balanced lifestyle for their loved ones.
- To further assist families in managing their loved ones' health holistically, the training includes fitness-and-exercise modules to promote physical well-being and overall improvement in mental health.
