The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and CDPHP have partnered to launch a pilot program offering reduced-cost CDPHP Cycle! memberships to residents of the Albany Housing Authority's Capital Woods Homes on Lark Drive.

Under this program, eligible residents can purchase a monthly membership for just $4, a significant discount from the regular $15 fee. Membership includes daily access to 30 free minutes of e-bike riding and 60 minutes of free pedal bike riding.

To sign up, residents must contact the Albany Housing Authority Resource Center and provide proof of residency. A new bike rack is being installed at Capital Woods to facilitate access to the bikeshare system.

This pilot program aims to expand affordable, healthy mobility options for the Albany Housing Authority community, promoting sustainable transportation and improved access to opportunities. The pilot currently serves one development, with plans to expand to more housing authority locations in the future.

CDTA CEO Frank Annicaro and CDPHP President Brian O'Grady emphasize the public health and equity benefits of the program, which features a fleet of over 600 bikes, including more than 400 e-bikes.

CDPHP President and CEO Brian O'Grady expressed continued commitment to the CDPHP Cycle! program, which has been proven to reduce cardiovascular disease, lower cholesterol, and boost mental health. Albany Housing Authority Executive Director Chiquita D'Arbeau looks forward to providing a transportation option to residents.

Residents can sign up for the exclusive membership by notifying the Albany Housing Authority Resource Center. The CDPHP Cycle! program provides an impactful opportunity for many residents and is a collective commitment to sustainable, convenient access for everyone.
