November 17th Revelations: Almaty Quarantine Crackdown
Stroll down the city streets of Almaty and you might stumble upon a few hidden gems... or a few nefarious transgressors. That's right, boys and girls, the good ol' boys in blue — the monitoring squad — swooped in last night, descending upon 27 locations to ensure the city was toeing the line when it came to quarantine regulations. An astounding 6 ne'er-do-wells were found flouting the rules.
But let's cut to the chase, shall we? You're here for the juicy deets. So, here they are:
🌱 Almalinsky district: The Korean restaurant at Mega Park on Seyfullin Avenue, 483, decided to stay open past 10 PM. Why, one might ask? To serve you, dear customer, perhaps? That's a big fat nope.
🐔 Bostandyk district: Four establishments were nabbed with their masks off (or rather, operating past curfew):
- CTR Chicken Almaty on Mustafina Street, 56/1 couldn't resist the lure of the post-10 PM crowd.
- Red Dragon fast food network on Mustafina Street, 56/8, in an act of culinary mischief, chose the same path.
- Salam Bro fast food network on Mustafina Street, 56/2 couldn't resist the temptation of sneaking in a few more customers.
- Playstation gaming club on Nauryzbai Batyr Street, 125, took its disregard for authority to a new level by operating despite the ban.
🍝 Medau district: The Venezia restaurant on Dostyk Avenue, 87a, also found itself on the bad side of the law for staying open past 10 PM.
Now, remember, kids, these offenders will face the wrath of Article 425, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Quite the mouthful, isn't it? And deservedly so.
The powers that be are urging the good citizens of Almaty to keep their distance from crowded places, especially those brave (read: reckless) enough to open their doors in defiance of the mayor's decree. Business owners, meanwhile, are expected to toe the line, too, following the rules of social distancing, the mask regime, providing personal protective equipment for their employees, and installing disinfecting facilities for the safety of all.
So here's a friendly PSA: keep your social distance, wear that mask, and above all, stay safe out there, Almaty!
In the midst of the Almaty quarantine crackdown, several establishments were found flouting rules, such as the Venezia restaurant in the Medau district, which stayed open past 10 PM, or CTR Chicken Almaty in the Bostandyk district, which operated past curfew. These actions, while potentially beneficial for business, may lead to medical-conditions related to the spread of health-and-wellness issues, and could face penalties according to Article 425, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
