Davina McCall, a renowned television presenter and author, is set to release her latest book, 'Birthing,' this month. The book, priced at £11, aims to provide support for various types of birth journeys and recovery experiences.

McCall, who gave birth to all three of her children in September, has drawn from her personal experiences to write the book. She had tests done before trying to conceive due to family history concerns and had to deal with complications during her pregnancies. McCall's mother had pre-eclampsia, a potentially serious high blood pressure condition, and underwent a hysterectomy at a young age due to ovarian cancer.

In 'Birthing,' McCall has collaborated with registered midwife and hypnobirthing instructor Marley Henry to offer practical advice and guidance. The book includes helpful explainers from experts in various fields, such as nutrition, clinical psychology, physiotherapy, Black maternal health, birth trauma, IVF, and more.

McCall's recovery strategies, which work universally, include getting out in nature and not being alone during difficult times. She is particularly knowledgeable about recovery, having spent time in Narcotics Anonymous and recovering from brain surgery.

Earlier this year, McCall had a brain tumour recovery. She also took 10 days of bed rest on the advice of midwife Caroline Flint to recover after giving birth. McCall refused pethidine pain relief during childbirth because it is an opioid and she is an ex-addict.

'Birthing' takes a non-judgemental approach, providing options for readers. It is not just a guide for pregnant women but also for those who have gone through the process of childbirth and are looking for support in their recovery.

Victoria Woodhall, GTG Editorial Director, has praised the book, stating, 'Davina McCall's book, 'Birthing,' is a must-read for anyone planning a family or who has recently given birth. It provides practical advice and emotional support, and I highly recommend it.'

McCall's three children are all Virgos, born prematurely, which added to the challenges she faced during her pregnancies. Despite these challenges, McCall has come out the other side with a wealth of knowledge and a heartfelt desire to help others.

'Birthing' is currently available for purchase, and it is expected to be a valuable resource for many expecting and new mothers.
