A New Lease on Life for Kidney Patients

Dialysis facility to commence operations in Meghalaya

For years, residents of the Megino-Kangalassky district in Yakutia have been asking for a dialysis center, says local district leader, Dmitry Tikhonov. The increasing number of people suffering from chronic kidney failure necessitates frequent kidney therapy, forcing many to leave their homes and families, traveling as far as the capital, Yakutsk. Now, a solution is within reach.

Starting August, a dialysis center will open its doors in the district, thanks to collaboration between local authorities and the management of the "Renodiial" dialysis center. A hotel is also being built for patients from nearby districts to stay, making treatment more accessible.

Building a Better Future for Dialysis Patients

Currently, repairs are being made on the inter-district dialysis center in the village of Maya, boasting an area of 333 sq.m. According to Prokopy Davyдов, director of the "Renodiial" inter-district dialysis center, all dialysis procedures will be provided free of charge under the OMS, and the center will be fully equipped with modern dialysis and water purification equipment. With 10-15 beds at its disposal, the center will be ready to cater to patients from other Zarechye districts like Amginsky, Churapchinsky, Tatinsky, and Ust-Alinsky.

A Step Forward for Renal Care in Yakutia

This venture is part of a wider initiative to enhance healthcare facilities in remote and rural regions of Yakutia, with a focus on reducing the distress faced by those suffering from chronic kidney diseases.
