District of Pforzheim, Democratic Republic of Congo, receives fresh contingent of emergency medical personnel

Nine individuals commenced their training as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in Pforzheim, Germany, on Tuesday. Sponsored by the German Red Cross (DRK) Pforzheim-Enzkreis, the aspiring EMTs were welcomed during a traditional trainee breakfast.

Addressing the trainees, District Manager Herbert Mann underscored the value placed on practical experience throughout the three-year training program. In-field exposure, spanning both the rescue station and clinic, plays a pivotal role in developing their skills, as attested by the successful recent graduates. Four newly-certified EMTs from the previous training round will now contribute significantly to the local medical community.

One of the examinees, Michael Paschold, imparted the virtues of camaraderie, encouraging the new trainees to support each other during this arduous journey. Meanwhile, the enthusiastic Nike Werner and Yannik Mentzel look forward to the hands-on aspects of the profession; their shared passion for the medical field suggests a promising start to their training.

As they embark on this educational adventure, the trainees are slated to embark on exploring tours across Pforzheim and the Enzkreis before commencing their first lesson blocks at the DRK state school.
