Emergency responders in Jetiş honored for heroically rescuing their family members from a house fire at city hall.
In the Jetisu Region, a residential house was engulfed in flames, putting the lives of its occupants in danger. However, the quick thinking and bravery of local medical workers turned the situation around.
On a fateful day, the driver of Ambulance Brigade No. 6/6, Murat Satekov, noticed smoke billowing from a house in the village of Jetisu. His team, including paramedics Gabit Ergaliev and Damira Rakhimova, sprang into action.
Upon arrival, they found the house already ablaze. Despite the danger, they bravely entered the burning house, equipped with basic firefighting tools and medical supplies. Their efforts paid off as they managed to evacuate five adults and two children, one of whom was likely an infant, from the burning house. They provided immediate medical assistance to those rescued.
The community's gratitude towards these heroes was evident. The regional akim, Beibit Isabaev, expressed sincere appreciation for the ambulance workers' selfless act. The event was reported by Liter.kz.
In recognition of their bravery, the medical workers were honored with special awards. Deputy Jetisu Region Akim Marlen Kolbaev presented them with letters of gratitude from the region's akim and valuable gifts. They were awarded the Medal of Courage, a Certificate of Appreciation, and the Community Service Award.
The incident served as a reminder of the importance of community support and the heroic actions of medical personnel in emergency situations. Local residents organised a fundraising campaign to support the families affected by the fire.
As for the honorees, Murat Satek has 16 years of experience driving an emergency vehicle, while Gabit Ergaliev has eight years of experience in the emergency service. Damira Rakhimova is currently in her third day of an internship at the emergency service station, having recently graduated from the Taldykorgan Higher Medical College.
The drivers of the Ambulance Brigade No. 6/6 have been trained in the Simulation Center at the regional emergency and urgent medical care station to provide first aid and connect necessary equipment in the ambulance.
