Ohio University is committed to the well-being of its employees, offering a variety of programs and resources to support their health and happiness. Here's a closer look at some of the initiatives available.

Biometric Health Screenings

Through the Healthy OHIO program, employees and their families can take advantage of biometric health screenings at the OhioHealth WorkHealth Athens Clinic. These screenings allow participants to monitor their health indicators and receive a financial incentive added to their paycheck for completing a screening.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Provided through Cigna Healthcare, the EAP offers confidential mental health support and counseling services not only for employees but also for their household members. It includes resources to manage stress, work-life balance, and attendance improvement, as well as organizational support for managers and HR related to workplace challenges. The EAP services are available 24/7, ensuring help is always within reach.

Personify Health: Your Personal Wellness Companion

Personify Health is Ohio University's personalized, mobile-friendly wellness platform. Users can track daily activity, sleep, and habits, join team challenges, access mental health tools, and earn up to $200 annually.

Additional Support Resources

Beyond the Healthy OHIO website and the standard HR Benefits offerings at Ohio University, additional support resources and programs for employee well-being include:

  • Indoor Yoga Classes at WellWorks, taking place weekly at 5:30pm in Athens (Grover Center E192) and can be registered for using SSO.
  • The Outdoor Yoga Under the Elms Series, a free weekly event from July 10-August 14, 12-1pm. All you need is a mat and water to participate.
  • Ohio University WellWorks also offers two different yoga offerings this summer, providing employees with a chance to unwind and rejuvenate.

Other departments at Ohio University provide employee support programming, including the Diabetes Prevention Program, Psychology and Social Work Clinic, and the Ombudsperson.

Registering for Programs and Services

New users can create an account for EAP services using the company code "ohiou". For mental health support, contacting Cigna’s EAP would be the route beyond standard HR benefits. If you want to explore specific program enrollment or scheduling, the OhioHealth WorkHealth appointments and Virgin Pulse/Personify enrollment are key pathways for using Healthy Ohio incentives.
