Focus on Care: AOK and County Establish a Significant Agreement
On July 18, 2025, a significant event took place at the AOK business office in Fürth. Organised by AOK Fürth and GesundheitsregionPlus of the district of Fürth, the "Healthy Care - Staying Healthy" action day was designed to address the needs of caring relatives who often neglect their own health while performing immense tasks daily.
District Administrator Bernd Obst and AOK Director Andreas Kaiser opened the event, underscoring the indispensable role of caring relatives in the healthcare system. In his opening remarks, Bernd Obst emphasised the importance of close cooperation between regional partners to relieve caring relatives. Andreas Kaiser, on the other hand, highlighted the need for creating sustainable structures and making care healthier for everyone involved.
The event was attended by around 50 participants who came to inform themselves and exchange ideas. The programme included a specialist lecture, two practical workshops on relaxation and ergonomic care, and information stands offering consulting on nursing care benefits and psychological support. AOK Bayern photographed the event.
Caring relatives are often at their limits, and this event aimed to provide concrete ways for them to take care of themselves. The workshops and information stands offered valuable insights and resources to help these unsung heroes of the healthcare system.
Regional partners including local healthcare providers, nursing associations, and regional health authorities are planning further joint initiatives in connection with the campaign "Healthy Caregiving - Staying Healthy." AOK Fürth and GesundheitsregionPlus of the district of Fürth demonstrated their commitment to this cause by providing concrete help during the event.
