Following the burglary incident, the nursing home sets up surveillance cameras.

In the quiet town of Schneverdingen, a concerning incident took place on Sunday, October 8th, at the Tannenhof nursing home located on Nordstraße, operated by Diakonische Altenhilfe Schneverdingen. An 81-year-old resident potentially faced a suspected attempted sexual assault.

According to reports, the suspect entered the resident's room through an open balcony door during the early morning twilight. The resident was able to scare off the intruder, but the suspect managed to escape without being caught.

The suspect was described as a man, approximately 1.65 meters tall, with a slim build, slim hands, and large black eyes. He was last reported by the police to be wearing a distinctive green-blue bodysuit with a white stripe on his arm or chest, known as a Morphsuit. This attire suggests a spontaneous act by a male perpetrator who may have been at a party beforehand.

The police have requested anyone with information to contact them at (0 51 91) 9 38 01 04. At present, they cannot establish any connections, and no similar incident has been reported in the Heidekreis region, according to police spokesman Tarek Gibbah.

In response to the incident, the nursing home is taking immediate steps to enhance security. They are sensitizing both employees and residents about the incident and installing a camera system as a preventive measure. The incident will also be discussed at the home's board meeting.

Caregivers are being reminded to close balcony doors after briefly airing out the rooms, and residents are encouraged to close windows and doors, especially after smoking. The police's prevention team is also available for security consultations, particularly for seniors.

The nursing home administration assures the community that they are taking the situation seriously and are doing everything in their power to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents. The police continue their investigation, and they urge anyone with information to come forward to help bring the suspect to justice.
