The former Washington Wizards playmaker spoke candidly about his son's progress on May 3.
"He's making an extraordinary comeback," Gilbert gushed to "The Dan Patrick Show."
"Angels seem to have been by his side that morning, so grateful he's recovering smoothly with no lasting injuries. Fingers crossed!"
Gilbert clarified that he usually tracks his son's whereabouts via the Tesla app in the wee hours, usually at the gym or returning home. On the morning of the crash, he assumed his son was at the gym until his daughter set him straight.
