HelloFresh Warns of Listeria in Two Meals Amidst Outbreak
Berlin-based HelloFresh SE has issued a warning regarding potential Listeria contamination in two of its Ready Made Meals: Cheesy Pulled Pork Pepper Pasta and Unstuffed Peppers with Ground Turkey. Despite the seriousness of the issue, the manufacturer has not disclosed key details such as batch numbers or production dates.
Listeria infections, which can lead to serious illness in vulnerable individuals, have been linked to pasta meals sold at Walmart. This outbreak has resulted in at least four deaths and 20 illnesses. The recalled products, including the Hello Fresh meal kits, are part of an expanding listeria outbreak involving heat-and-eat pasta meals. Symptoms of listeria infection include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
Federal health officials previously warned consumers not to eat certain Hello Fresh subscription meal kits containing spinach due to potential listeria contamination. Tests confirmed the presence of listeria bacteria in the spinach used in these products.
Consumers are advised to avoid the recalled Hello Fresh Ready Made Meals until further notice. Anyone who has eaten these products and experiences symptoms of listeria infection should seek medical attention immediately. HelloFresh SE has not yet provided specific details on the affected batches or production dates.
