Hesse's Emergency Services Handle 1.3M Deployments; Minister Pushes for Digital Upgrade
Hessian emergency medical services managed around 1.3 million deployments last year. Health Minister Diana Stolz has commended the hard work of all involved and is now advocating for enhancements through digitization and improved coordination with fire services.
The emergency system in Hesse is extensive, encompassing 26 emergency medical service areas, 25 central control centers, 24 medical control centers, and 4 air rescue centers. Minister Stolz aims to fortify this network by bolstering control centers, which will reinforce the entire emergency care system and public security.
The current HRDG amendment seeks to optimize emergency medical services through digitization and data-driven methods. Close coordination with fire services, particularly concerning control centers, is crucial to these reforms. Integrated control centers, or 'Integrierte Leitstellen', are considered the 'heart' of non-police emergency assistance, orchestrating tasks in areas like fire protection, environmental protection, and civil protection.
The Health Minister has conveyed her appreciation to all emergency medical services and firefighters for their service. The objective is to improve emergency care and working conditions through sustainable structures and clear regulations, with the involvement of emergency medical services in healthcare reforms. The strengthening of control centers is anticipated to bolster the security of Hessian citizens.
