In Novosibirsk, a medic implicated in his daughter's demise by a Siberian resident will evade punishment

Title: Tragic Tale of Novosibirsk's Little Angel: A Battle for Justice

Five long years have passed since the heartbreaking incident that shook Novosibirsk. A two-year-old girl, Adelina, left this world prematurely after a horrifying ordeal. Tragedy struck in 2020 when Adelina fell ill, allegedly due to a contaminated yogurt. Her mother, Elena, shared the chilling details with "KP-Novosibirsk."

"At first, my daughter couldn't use the potty - it was excruciating for her," Elena remembered. "Then she began to vomit." Terrified, Elena quickly called an ambulance.

According to Elena, the emergency medical technician made a preliminary diagnosis of acute intestinal obstruction. At the hospital, an ultrasound doctor and an X-ray showed similar signs. Yet, the surgeon, with a startling misdiagnosis, believed Adelina was suffering from high blood sugar, presumed to be diabetes. Consequently, she was sent to another clinic, where she was misdiagnosed once more. Tragically, five long hours later, Adelina took her last breath.

The surgeon who initially misdiagnosed Adelina faced charges of negligence, and the court handed him a three-year probation sentence. However, the heartbroken parents appealed this decision. "At first, the verdict was lenient because the surgeon was taking care of Adelina's mother," the family's lawyer explained. "But later, we learned that the mother had passed away by the time the verdict was issued." The new ruling is set to be revealed next week.

Regarding the surgeon from the second clinic where Adelina was taken, Elena stated, "She won't face any consequences, even though my daughter died." A fifth examination has been scheduled in the case, but with a heavy heart, Elena questioned its purpose. "The previous examinations have already established why Adelina died and how it relates to the doctors' actions," she sighed. "By the time the results come in, the statute of limitations will have run out." The only recourse left for the family is to file a lawsuit in civil court and seek compensation.

" Elena, Adelina's mother, recounted the limitations in science and medical-conditions that led to the tragic death of her daughter in Novosibirsk. The initial diagnosis of Adelina's medical condition was acute intestinal obstruction, but a shocking misdiagnosis by a surgeon resulted in a wrong treatment and clinic transfer. Despite the five examinations carried out, the statute of limitations may prevent any legal consequences for the surgeons involved in this health-and-wellness crisis. The family is now left to seek compensation through a civil lawsuit."
