Industrial Accident in Bocholt's Industrial Park: Person Injured During Shipping of Hazardous Materials
In an emergency situation late on Friday night, the Bocholt Fire Department, along with support from the Isselburg-Werth and Rhede fire departments, responded to a call at a logistics company in Bocholt Industrial Park.
Due to the hazardous nature of the incident, Bocholt Fire Department's full-time forces and volunteer specialist forces from the Hazardous Materials Response Team were alerted. The teams, equipped with chemical protective suits, were able to recover the damaged containers and eliminate the danger caused by the incident.
Unfortunately, an employee at the affected company was injured due to the hazardous material leak. The injured employee was treated on site by the rescue service and taken to Bocholt Hospital for further treatment. The name of the individual has not been publicly disclosed.
Immediately following the incident, the affected area was evacuated by the company. The rescue service's self-protection at the scene was provided by a Red Cross ambulance from Bocholt. In total, 50 personnel with 14 vehicles were involved in the operation.
