Lockdown Violations in Almaty's Auezov District Intensify

It's clear as day that COVID-19 cases are on the rise in October, compared to September's numbers. During a recent press conference, Renat Keneev, Deputy Akim of Auezov District, announced over 480 facilities have been inspected since October 8, following Almaty Mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev's orders to tighten up on monitoring groups and quash violations of quarantine and safety norms.

According to Keneev, here's the rundown:

  • A staggering 8 facilities had to shut their doors due to multiple violations.
  • A hefty 97 individuals were fined for failing to wear masks, as per Article 425 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • 3 facilities got slammed with administrative reports and will face further action from the Department of Quality and Safety Control of Goods and Services.
  • 131 facilities received explanatory work on the importance of adhering to sanitary-epidemiological norms.
  • 21 reports were drawn up for 21 legal entities who were less than keen on following the rules.

Unfortunately, it seems that while mass events are technically banned, they're still happening left and right. Weddings, uzatu, toy, and birthday parties are being thrown, posing a significant threat to public health.

Several banquet halls in the district have also been hosting events, with all materials being handed over to the Department of Quality and Safety Control of Goods and Services for investigation. And it's not just banquet halls - computer clubs, billiard halls, and hookah bars continue to flaunt the rules despite the ban.

Take the Yota game club computer center and the "Labyrinth" hookah bar, for example, who were hit with a combined fine of 634,000 tenge for their blatant disregard of quarantine rules.

Even though it's a tough time, Renat Keneev, Deputy Akim of Almaty's Auezov District, emphasizes the importance of staying vigilant and disciplined.

"It's more important now than ever to practice good hygiene, wear masks in public places, and only leave home when absolutely necessary. We need to look out for vulnerable members of our community, like the elderly and those with chronic illnesses. By doing so, we can overcome these challenges and return to normality sooner," Keneev urges. Stay safe, folks!

The escalating COVID-19 cases in October necessitate adherence to health-and-wellness practices, such as wearing masks and maintaining sanitary norms, as emphasized by Renat Keneev, Deputy Akim of Auezov District. Moreover, the disregard for quarantine rules observed in various facilities across Almaty, including banquet halls, computer clubs, and hookah bars, underscores the crucial role of science in informing public health policies to prevent outbreaks.
