In a shocking turn of events, a shooting incident occurred near the U.S. Health Agency Headquarters in Atlanta. The victim was a police officer, 33 years old, who was unfortunately caught in the crossfire.

The suspect in the shooting, 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, opened fire, sending a large number of rounds flying. The exact number of shell casings found is over 500, though it's unclear how many were from White's gun versus exchanges with law enforcement.

Investigations have revealed that White harboured discontent and distrust towards the COVID-19 vaccine. Authorities found written documentation at his home reflecting this sentiment, although no direct threats were made in the writing. Witnesses reported that he blamed the COVID-19 vaccine for causing him sickness, depression, and related physical problems, such as weight loss and gastrointestinal issues, which contributed to his anger and conspiracy-related views.

Atlanta's police chief, Darin Schierbaum, commented on the incident, stating that it's "too early" to comment on media reports about the suspect's motives. However, current evidence strongly connects White's actions to grievances concerning the COVID-19 vaccine.

The incident had an impact on a CDC kindergarten located on the premises of the U.S. Health Agency Headquarters. Fortunately, the children were not harmed during the incident. A total of 29 children from the kindergarten were temporarily evacuated and were reunited with their parents at a nearby school.

Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased officer during this difficult time. The investigation into the motives behind this tragic event continues.
