Magadan Region Fights ARVI Surge with Mass Vaccination Campaign
Magadan region is battling a surge in ARVI cases, with a 50.5% increase since September. To combat this, a vaccination campaign against influenza is underway, targeting 55,460 people by autumn 2025. As of September 26, 29.1% of planned vaccinations have been completed, with higher rates among children.
The Sanitary and Anti-Epidemic Subcommittee of Magadan city recently met to discuss measures against influenza and ARVI. Children aged 3 to 6 and adults are the most affected by the current ARVI outbreak. Unscheduled training sessions have been held for workers in educational institutions to strengthen prevention measures.
Vaccination is available at GKBUZ 'City Polyclinic' from Monday to Saturday, with no prior registration needed. Priority is given to adults, students, workers in medical and educational institutions, those aged 60 and over, and individuals with chronic diseases. The vaccination campaign aims to cover 59.6% of Magadan's population, including 56.4% adults and 72.8% children.
