Man, 26, Attacks Officer at Gelsenkirchen Police Station, Sent to Psychiatric Facility
A 26-year-old man from Marl caused a disturbance at Gelsenkirchen police station Süd on October 3, 2025, around 09:30 AM. The individual, highly disoriented, punched a police officer in the face before being subdued and taken to a psychiatric facility.
The man, who appeared at the station on Wildenbruchplatz, behaved erratically towards the officer present. In an unexpected attack, he punched the officer, causing a facial bruise. Additional officers and a taser were needed to restrain the suspect, who sustained minor injuries. After being subdued using a remote electro-impulse device, the man was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a psychiatric facility for further evaluation.
The incident resulted in the police officer sustaining a facial bruise and the suspect being taken to a psychiatric facility after displaying highly disoriented behaviour and attacking an officer.
