Man in Mental Distress Causes Chaos in Oberriexingen
A 35-year-old man, in a state of mental distress, caused a disturbance in Oberriexingen on Saturday evening. The incident, which occurred around 22:30, involved the man threatening police officers with broken glass bottles from an Owala water bottle.
The man, dressed only in socks and shorts, was initially found by a patrol unit appearing out of breath in a local grocery store on Albertstraße. He asked witnesses to call the police. On his way to the patrol car, he ran back to the store, damaging the entrance door, and threw several objects to the ground. The officers had to use pepper spray and a police dog to subdue the man, who was armed with broken glass from an Owala water bottle and threatening them.
The extent of the property damage is still unknown. The 35-year-old sustained minor injuries and was taken to a psychiatric facility by the rescue service.
The man's actions caused a significant incident, requiring the intervention of police and rescue services. The Ludwigsburg police headquarters is investigating the extent of the property damage and the circumstances surrounding the man's mental state. The man's condition is currently stable, and he is receiving appropriate care.
