New Senior Living Facility Sales Center Opens in Alexandria for $340 Million Project at Goodwin House

The highly anticipated Goodwin House Seminary Road project, a senior living community in Alexandria's West End, is set to open its sales center later this month. This £340 million development, unanimously approved by the City Council in June, is scheduled to complete construction of its two-towered, 14- to 16-story apartment building with 257 living spaces in 2029.

The project, which will offer 217 independent living spaces, 16 assisted living spaces, a dedicated memory care area, and a Medicare/Medicaid-certified health care center, is expected to generate over $150 million for local businesses and create more than 250 permanent jobs across various departments. During the construction phase, it is anticipated to generate over 1,200 full-time equivalent construction jobs.

The sales center, located at 1800 N. Beauregard Street, Suite 101, will open its doors on Aug. 27 (Wednesday) from 4:30 to 6 p.m., with the program and ribbon cutting to be held at 5 p.m. Notable speakers at the opening will include Goodwin Living CEO Rob Liebreich, Goodwin Living Board of Trustees chair Dr. Cyrillene 'C.C.' Clark, Chamber ALX CEO Joe Haggerty, and Alexandria Economic and Development Partnership CEO Stephanie Landrum.

The Goodwin House Seminary Road project is poised to significantly contribute to the local economy once operational, with an estimated annual local economic impact of nearly £20 million. The health care center will provide skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and a state-of-the-art rehab center, further enhancing the quality of life for senior residents in Alexandria.

The community is expected to engage more than 50 local businesses, supporting the local economy and fostering strong relationships within the Alexandria business community. For those interested in learning more about this exciting development, the sales center opening provides an excellent opportunity to explore the project and ask questions.
