Here we have 2 people who are sitting on black chairs and this man is having tablet and lady is looking for some thing and here we have many people sitting around a table looking like a conference. Here we have book in her hand and on the round table we have glasses, water etc. They also wear id cards. This seems like an office place and in the right we have table and on it we have telephone.

NHS Offers Online Appointments Nationwide: A Step Towards 'Online Hospital' by 2027

From today, all GP surgeries in England are now required to offer online appointment bookings, a significant step in the government's plan to modernise the NHS. This move, part of a broader transformation pledge, aims to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for patients.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has urged the British Medical Association (BMA) to embrace this plan, highlighting that many GPs already offer online services. However, the BMA has expressed concerns about the lack of safeguards and additional staff to handle the expected 'barrage of online requests'.

The new system requires practices to keep their websites and app services available from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday through Friday, for non-urgent appointments, medication queries, and admin requests. The government has pledged an extra £1 billion for general practice and 2,000 extra GPs to support this transition.

While the government has acknowledged potential challenges, such as ensuring consistency during busier periods and assisting practices in need, the long-term goal remains clear: to establish a nationwide 'online hospital' by 2027, enabling patients to receive treatment and care from home. The success of this initiative will depend on the cooperation between the government, GPs, and the BMA.
