Parents Push for Hearing Assistance in Classrooms Under Workplace Ordinance
A proposal has been put forth to extend the Workplace Ordinance to schools, aiming to enhance learning conditions without incurring extra costs. The author, a parent with a hearing-impaired child, advocates for the provision of hearing assistance systems in all classrooms through the Startchance program.
The author suggests implementing systems like the Phonak Roger Digimaster and Touchscreenmic in every classroom. These devices have proven beneficial for children with auditory verbal processing disorders (AVWS) and also provide voice-friendly support for teachers. Despite the lack of specific school name in the image, the author's experience with these systems in their child's class has been positive. Extending the Workplace Ordinance to schools is seen as a way to improve overall conditions without additional financial burden.
The author's proposal to extend the Workplace Ordinance to schools and provide hearing assistance systems in all classes through the Startchance program is driven by personal experience and a desire to improve learning conditions for all children, particularly those with AVWS, without incurring extra costs.
