Recklinghausen, Germany - The Recklinghausen Police Headquarters has announced that the third network meeting after last year's Halloween riots took place on 05.09.2025. The meeting, which involved various entities including the Recklinghausen police, city of Marl departments, Vestische tram, social workers, and shopping center representatives, was held at the police headquarters.
Following the Halloween riots in 2024, criminal proceedings were initiated and have since been brought to trial. The police and KOD were frequently present in and around the ZOB throughout the year, with three targeted deployments in Marl-Mitte since Halloween 2024. Officers showed a visible presence and conducted checks during these deployments.
The mobile police station was also regularly deployed in the ZOB. Significant improvements have already been achieved in the area of abandoned shopping carts in residential areas, which was one of the topics discussed at the meeting. Discussions also included the status and progress of planned measures such as lighting and green cutting.
Citizens in the city center feel a sense of security due to the police presence. In fact, Police President Friederik Zurhausen thanked all involved for their perseverance and consistency in ensuring safety in Marl.
