Liz McClarnon's Long Road to Parenthood: A Miracle in the Making
Long Voyage En Route to Conception: A Detailed Exploration - Protracted travel to conception
Gather 'round, folks. This tale's about Liz McClarnon, the 44-year-old singer from Atomic Kitten who's done the impossible - she's pregnant! But her journey to motherhood has been far from a walk in the park.
Talking to the British rag, The Mirror, McClarnon spills the beans on the rocky road to parenthood she's traveled alongside her hubby, Peter Cho. The pair, who met in 2021 and tied the knot in 2023, started their family-making quest with IVF. Sadly, they faced three failed embryo transfers in 2022 and two miscarriages in 2024[1].
The Support of a Lifetime
When McClarnon hit a wall after the last miscarriage, Peter, her knight in shining armor, stood by her side. "I said I was 'done,' and Peter was completely supportive. He just said, 'That's your body, and I'll support whatever you decide.' That meant a lot to me," she admitted[1]. The emotional upheaval was a doozy, she confessed, "I felt emotionally terrible. It was really hard."
But Christmas came to the rescue! Hanging with the fam over the holidays brought a much-needed boost for another shot at parenthood[1].
Miracles Do Happen
Nowadays, McClarnon looks at pregnancy with newfound awe: "The whole process really made me understand that having a baby is a miracle. There are so many things that have to go right for someone to get pregnant and for it to result in a healthy baby." And the expectant mom's got the evidence to prove it, posting an emotional Instagram video in May to announce her pregnancy[1].
The reactions were overwhelming! Bandmate Jenny Frost (47) chimed in, "The best news ever! You've made it through, girl, but never lost faith in what you knew was meant to be." Singer Natasha Hamilton (42) wrote with adoration, "I couldn't be happier for you both! After everything you've been through, this little miracle means everything."
Still in Shock mode
McClarnon acknowledges the shock factor. "I really didn't expect people to care," she admitted. "I just thought I should probably post it before someone else mentioned it. I'm still in the 'Is that a baby bump or just a big belly?' stage, I think, but it was only a matter of time."

I'm not going to say that I'm not delighted about my ongoing pregnancy, a true miracle that has resulted from the IVF journey and the support of my husband, Peter Cho. While the process was filled with struggles, such as three failed embryo transfers in 2022 and two miscarriages in 2024, we found solace and strength in one another and in the love from our friends and family. The pregnancy announcement on Instagram received an outpouring of joy and support from fellow musicians like Jenny Frost and Natasha Hamilton, who acknowledged the long road we've traveled to reach this blessed state. However, I'm still in shock mode, constantly questioning if the baby bump is just a big belly or not.
