The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is currently recruiting for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and a Scientific Administrative Assistant/Field Worker under the DBT-funded project on "Application of machine learning for hyperspectral imaging and remote sensing aimed at early detection of fungal foliar disease and bacterial wilt disease in potato crop".

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, or any relevant Life Sciences discipline with a 4- or 5-year Bachelor's degree. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s + 2 years Master’s must have qualified in NET/GATE. Selection requires prior qualification through National Eligibility Tests like CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE. The age limit is maximum 35 years, with relaxation of +5 years for SC/ST/Women and +3 years for OBC candidates. The emoluments for the JRF post range from Rs. 31,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- per month, with additional HRA.

Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker Qualifications:

The educational qualification details for this position are not explicitly mentioned, but typically requires relevant experience applicable for fieldwork and administrative tasks. The age limit is maximum 50 years. The emolument for this post is Rs. 18,000/- per month, with additional HRA (fixed Rs. 22,320).

Please note that the positions are purely temporary and contractual, with the initial appointment being for 1 year, extendable upon satisfactory performance until project completion. The Scientific Administrative Assistant/Field Worker post requires a Graduate degree in any discipline. The JRF post requires a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or a Professional course related to Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences.
