Las Vegas Concerts Cancelled: Rod Stewart on Flu Recovery

Rod Stewart Forced to Scratch Another Performance

Rock legend Rod Stewart's upcoming performance in Las Vegas on June 5 has been axed due to his ongoing recovery from the flu. The 80-year-old vocalist shared his apologies to fans via Instagram, expressing his regret for the cancellation [@officialrodstewart].

Stewart had previously postponed his June 1 show, citing his unwell condition, and had planned to perform on June 7 and 8, but these concerts are now part of the cancelled series as well.

Despite the health setbacks, Stewart remains optimistic about his future plans. In November 2024, he announced he'd be stepping back from large-scale world tours but not retiring entirely. Instead, he intends to embark on a more intimate "Great American Songbook, Swing Fever Tour" in 2026 [ntv.de].

Glastonbury Festival and Return to the Stage

Stewart has several shows scheduled in the US this month, with a notable performance at the legendary Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England, on June 29. During this event, he plans a mini-reunion with his former band, Faces, featuring his longtime friend Ronnie Wood.

Stewart's recent health issues aren't the first challenges he's faced. He previously battled thyroid cancer in 2000 and prostate cancer in 2017 [4]. Despite his grueling journey, he continues to dedicate himself to his music, taking the necessary time to recover before returning to the stage.
