The Rutherford Cancer Centre North East, situated in Bomarsund, Northumberland, opened in August 2018. It's approximately 17 miles from Newcastle and is designed to feel like a health spa, with a therapeutic atmosphere. The centre is one of three developed by Rutherford Estates and operated by Rutherford Cancer Centres. It offers diagnostic and planning facilities, including CT and MRI scanning equipment.
The Thames Valley Cancer Centre, located on the Thames Valley Science Park in Shinfield, Wokingham, opened in October 2018. Both centres feature bright, airy reception spaces and a strong artistic theme throughout. They blend into their surroundings with wild-flower planting and grass roof coverings. Vinci Construction UK built both centres. Proton beam therapy is set to come online at both locations in summer 2019.
