Singer and host Paola Felix (74) shares her excitement for her upcoming performance at the ESC in Basel, where she'll celebrate "Switzerland's musical ESC legacy" with Luca Hanni (30), as per SRF's announcement. In an interview with the "Schweizer Illustrierten", Felix expresses her eagerness for the event, stating, "It's something unique and a great joy for me to return to the ESC, a place that holds immense significance for me."
Felix made her ESC debut as an 18-year-old in Madrid with the song "Bonjour, bonjour" and placed fifth. She went on to perform again in Den Haag in 1980, finishing fourth with "Cinéma." Her ESC journey is intertwined with her late husband.
In 2012, Paola Felix experienced a profound loss when her husband Kurt Felix (1941-2012) passed away from cancer at the age of 71. Reflecting on her grief, she stated in 2013 to the "Schweizer Illustrierten", "A year of endless sadness lies behind me." Five years later, she opened up about her husband in an interview with SRF, saying, "It was a great love, like there is only once in life. Kurt and I were soulmates."

Though it's been thirteen years since his passing, Paola Felix speaks fondly of her husband today, saying, "It's a loss, but on the other hand, he is still here for me. He is always and everywhere present and in my heart."
Paola finds comfort in the fact that they had a fantastic bond, which remains with her. "It was an adjustment to live alone again, because we did everything together," she admits, but stresses, "I'm not lonely. Alone, yes, but that's many. That's not negative. Lonely would not be good."

When asked if she wished to enter another romantic relationship, Paola explains, "I still share my life with my dear Kurt. The thought is not there. He remains the main person in my life."
