Social Center in Gran Alacant Restarts Operations
The Gran Alacant Social Centre, located at the Evoca Living shopping centre on Monte de Santa Pola Street, has recently reopened its doors to the community. Since early July, the centre has been operational, providing vital support and services to those in need.
In the coming months, the centre will introduce six new services designed to address social exclusion, mental health, and child welfare. These comprehensive offerings aim to support vulnerable groups, tackling social isolation, promoting mental well-being, aiding children and youth, and fostering equal opportunities.
One of the new services will be legal advice and support from a law graduate. This service aims to provide guidance and assistance to individuals navigating complex legal matters. Another new service will focus on specialized psychological care for individuals with chronic illness, offering much-needed support for those facing ongoing health challenges.
The centre also plans to introduce job integration programs, helping those who may be struggling to find employment. Additionally, gender equality services will be offered, promoting equality and non-discrimination, with a focus on gender issues.
Another essential service will be addiction prevention and support. The centre aims to prevent risks related to drug use, addictive behaviours, problematic technology, and gambling, providing resources and assistance to those who may be struggling.
The centre will also offer intervention services for vulnerable children and adolescents, focusing on those facing risk, neglect, or legal protection measures. This service is designed to protect and support the most vulnerable members of the community.
The Gran Alacant Social Centre's reopening marks a significant step toward improving community well-being. The centre operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm and provides services such as social work, psychology, and education.
