19-Year-Old Mara Alber Leaves Hoffenheim for Chelsea in Big Four-Year Move

After four memorable years with Bundesliga women's football club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Mara Alber is setting sail for English champions FC Chelsea. The young offensive powerhouse, only 19, is all set to make her mark on one of the world's biggest clubs. Alber made her Bundesliga debut in 2022 and has since played 33 games, netting six goals.

Alber seals a four-year contract with the Blues, eager to embrace this life-changing opportunity. "I'm thrilled to join Chelsea," gushed Alber. "It feels like a huge club, and I can't wait to be a part of it."

Alber Ready for Her Next Step

Ever since joining Hoffenheim's Bundesliga squad in the 2023/24 season, Alber has been a mainstay. Prior to that, she spent two years with the U20 in the second Bundesliga. The 2024/25 season was a tough one for Alber, who suffered a knee fracture at the end of September, limiting her to only six Bundesliga appearances. But the Londoners are convinced of her potential, considering her one of "Germany's most promising young talents."

Chelsea's head of women's football, Paul Green, has highlighted her potential, and Alber herself is enthusiastic about joining Chelsea, citing the club's stature and her eagerness to contribute fully to the team's ambitions.
