The competition resumes in Uganda this Sunday, passing through Verl.

The Verler Uganda-Hilfe is hosting the Uganda Run on August 10th, 2023, at Bürgerhaus Hühnerstall in Bornholte, Germany. This event is a significant opportunity for the community to come together and support humanitarian and medical projects in Uganda.

The day starts with hikers setting off at 11 am, followed by runners at 11:30 am. Participants can choose between two distances: 5.6 or 10.2 kilometers, ensuring there's a challenge for everyone.

The deputy mayor Matthias Humpert will give the starting signal at 11 am, marking the beginning of this charitable event. The entry fee is 70 cents per kilometer, and rounding up is welcome, as encouraged by Helga Brockbals, a representative of the association.

All proceeds from the Uganda Run will go to the Verler Uganda-Hilfe, an organisation dedicated to improving the living conditions of children in Ugandan orphanages. Over the years, they have provided essential items such as baby and children's clothing, shoes, sleeping bags, and blankets to an orphanage in Uganda.

While the focus is primarily on humanitarian aid, Helga Brockbals acknowledges that there is still a great need for action in Uganda, despite many goals already being achieved.

A rescue service has been established in Uganda, and water supply has been secured, indicating improvements in the basic needs of the population. School sponsorships have also been set up, ensuring children have access to education.

Refreshments will be available for participants on the course and at Hühnerstall on Schmiedestraße. After the run, homemade cake, grilled sausages, fries, pancakes, and cold drinks will be served, offering a chance for participants to unwind and socialise.

The Uganda Hilfe Verl association's website is www.ugandahilfe-verl.de, where you can find more information about their work and the Uganda Run. By participating in this event, you're contributing to making a difference in the lives of those in need in Uganda. So, mark your calendars for August 10th and join the Uganda Run 2023!

Participants can engage in a science-based health-and-wellness lifestyle by signing up for the Uganda Run, which aims to collect funds for upcoming health projects in Uganda. This lifestyle choice, combined with the support of the Uganda Hilfe Verl association's humanitarian efforts, will contribute to promoting health-and-wellness improvements in orphanages and communities of Uganda.
