Noise occurrence: its locations, causes, and characteristics sought. - The Factors and Procedures that Generate and Locate Sound
Ready to lend an ear? Residents of Rhineland-Palatinate are in for a unique opportunity as they're encouraged to share their experiences with noise in their environment. This research initiative, set to commence in May, aims to bring light to various noise sources, types, and hotspots. The Ministry of the Environment in Mainz has boldly plunged into this mission.
The goal is to gather insights from a pool of 2,000 adults, randomly selected from various locales within Rhineland-Palatinate. Those chosen will receive their invitations to participate in May and supreme freedom to opt-in or out.
Cue the psychology buffs! The ministry has contracted the Center for Applied Psychology, Environmental, and Social Research in Hagen to handle the intricate task of compiling and evaluating the data collected.
The outcomes of this survey will shape a noise atlas for Rhineland-Palatinate. This powerful resource will aide in assessing the health implications of noise pollution, as well as help compare the costs associated with noise protection against those linked to noise-related illnesses.
