In the heart of Wesel, Germany, on September 6, 2025, a demonstration for lipedema care took place, united under the hashtag #WeWillBeHeard. Over 60 affected individuals and supporters gathered at the town hall square, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

The demonstration began at the Wesel Adult Education Center, where Dr. Olaf Deling delivered a lecture, setting the stage for the day's events. Simultaneously, the CDU Wesel was holding an information event, lending their support to the cause.

Among the attendees was Andre Nitsche, the CDU mayoral candidate, who visited the demonstration. A member of the Christian Democratic Union party, Nitsche took the opportunity to engage with the demonstrators and show his solidarity.

As the demonstration continued, balloons, whistles, posters, flyers, and petition lists were distributed, serving as visual reminders of the cause and tools for further advocacy. The demonstrators expressed their anticipation for future events, indicating a strong commitment to the fight for lipedema care.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for the demonstrators to speak directly with Minister President NRW during the demonstration. Dr. Olaf Deling announced that Minister President Hendrik Wüst would attend the demonstration later, provided the whistles were put aside. This development was met with a sense of optimism and hope.

MdB Sascha van Beek, who had previously been in contact with the SHG LiLyLadys Wesel, also joined the crowd. He assured the demonstrators that he would continue to exchange ideas with them, offering a promise of ongoing support. The Minister President and Dr. Olaf Deling agreed to stay in touch, signalling a potential for further collaboration in the future.

The Wesel police also supported the demonstration, ensuring a safe and peaceful event. The day concluded with the demonstrators expressing gratitude for the turnout and the support they received, marking a successful event for the lipedema care demonstration. Sascha van Beek, in his closing remarks, reassured the demonstrators that their voices were being heard, and that they were not alone in their fight for better lipedema care.
