Obituary: Thelma Kay Sweigart (1920-2025)
Thelma Kay Sweigart, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on September 14, 2025, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. She was 95 years old.
Thelma was born in Denver and spent her early years working at Woolworth's. She shared 65 years of marriage with her late husband, Marvin D. Sweigart.
Thelma is survived by her son, David Sweigart, and his wife Ann, who reside in Arizona. She is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Sweigart Shaffer, and her husband Rob, who live in Stevens. Thelma leaves behind her grandchildren, Harley Sweigart and Bryce Shaffer, as well as her sister, Gloria Esh, who resides in Mechanicsburg.
A viewing for Thelma will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5 to 6 PM at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. The memorial service will follow the viewing at 6 PM.
The arrangements for Thelma's service are being handled by Roseboro Stradling Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Denver. Pastor Helmut R. Jellison will conduct the funeral service, while Pastor Bradley Haws will officiate the memorial service.
