Unsanctioned 10K Race Challenges NYC Athletes with Burpee Twist

Ten Thousand is set to host an unsanctioned 10K event in Manhattan on Friday, October 10, starting at 6:00 p.m. at 14th Street Park. Dubbed 'The Ten Thousand 10K', this event aims to crown the toughest athlete in NYC. Participants will face a unique challenge: completing 250 burpees during the event, with 10 burpees per lap of a block in the Meatpacking District.

The event, first announced in early September, has selected fifty athletes, including top Hyrox athletes Dylan Scott and Jack Driscoll. Each participant must submit a $100 buy-in, with the top finisher taking home a $5,000 prize. To mark the occasion, spectators will receive a special edition 10/10 Interval T-Shirt, available for purchase starting October 10th. The event will cover a distance of 6.2 miles, putting participants' endurance and strength to the test.

The Ten Thousand 10K promises to be a challenging and exciting event, pushing athletes to their limits. With a substantial prize pool and unique burpee challenge, it's set to be a memorable competition. Spectators can also join in the spirit by purchasing the special edition T-Shirt.
