Warehouse fire causes evacuation of hazardous materials
In the heart of Ingolstadt, a series of incidents unfolded on a busy workday. The first event was a warehouse fire on "Am Franziskanerwasser" street. The blaze was traced back to the spontaneous combustion of oil-soaked cleaning rags stored in the building.
Upon arrival, firefighters from the Professional Fire Brigade Ingolstadt, Mailing fire department, and a combined force of around 90 personnel from various fire departments and rescue services found the warehouse engulfed in smoke. Thankfully, all employees were already in a safe area.
The firefighters swiftly sprang into action, using water and foam to suppress the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent structures. A thorough cooling and ventilation process followed to ensure complete extinguishment and safety. Smoke extraction was also carried out to clear the area.
Despite the intensity of the fire, no danger was reported to outsiders. However, three individuals required attention from the rescue service during the incident.
Simultaneously, a hazardous materials leak occurred on a factory site in the Mailing district, Ingolstadt. The fire department investigated the extent of the leak and took immediate measures to prevent further gas formation. No further information about injuries or casualties was provided.
The incidents, while concerning, were swiftly managed by the dedicated teams from the professional fire brigade, local police, and volunteer fire departments from Ringsee, Rothenturm, Unsernherrn, Stadtmitte, Etting, and Kösching.
The small fire in the warehouse was quickly extinguished, and the hazardous materials situation was brought under control. Ingolstadt, once again, showcased its resilience in the face of adversity.
Science and health-and-wellness tended to the three individuals who were affected by the incidents. Therapies-and-treatments were provided to ensure their recovery. Despite the disruptive events, the city's dedication to maintaining public safety and health remained evident.
