Kenneth Cole, the fashion brand known for its commitment to social awareness, is set to relaunch its ready-to-wear women's apparel line on September 30. The collection, the first under creative director Emily Cole, daughter of company founder Kenneth Cole, features 21 pieces designed, manufactured, and distributed in partnership with Kasper Group.

The collection includes an oversized moto jacket, outerwear, suiting, textured knits, and layering pieces, catering to a variety of styles and occasions. Emily Cole, who was appointed executive vice president, women's creative director, and product strategy in July, shares her father's dedication to social impact.

The advertising campaign for the collection features actor Ariana DeBose. DeBose, known for her work in films like "West Side Story" and "Hamilton," finds the "brand's decades of dedication to social impact and advocacy coupled with this campaign's theme of female empowerment" resonates deeply with her.

The relaunch of the women's apparel line is taking place during a pivotal time, as the fashion industry continues to grapple with issues of equality and social change. The collection is part of a trend in American sportswear, as indicated by the shows at September's New York Fashion Week.

Retail prices for the collection will not exceed $495, making it accessible to a wide range of consumers. The line will be available in-store at Nordstrom, in-store and online at Macy's, and via the Kenneth Cole e-commerce platform.

Kenneth Cole previously entered into a sportswear licensing agreement with Global Brands in 2016. However, no new licensing agreement for Kenneth Cole's sportswear has been announced. It's worth noting that Global Brands' U.S. business filed for bankruptcy in 2021.

Despite shuttering all but two of its U.S. stores in 2016, Kenneth Cole continues to maintain a presence through its e-commerce platform and third-party retailers and better specialty stores. The brand's commitment to social awareness remains a significant part of its identity, as reflected in this new collection and its empowering campaign.

There are no search results providing information about who employed Emily Cole before she joined the company in 2022. However, her appointment marks a new chapter for Kenneth Cole, as she brings fresh perspectives and a continued commitment to social impact to the brand.
